The Experience

A Day on the Water with Mikey

The Kenai River sockeye salmon run is one of the most prolific salmon migrations on planet Earth, seeing over a million fish pass our sonar stations each season. On this full-day adventure, we target fresh, silver-bright sockeye entering from Cook Inlet. Using specialized flossing and bottom-bounce drift rigs on G.Loomis rods, you will hook into pound-for-pound the hardest fighting and best tasting salmon in Alaska. We navigate to secluded gravel bars and prime holding currents where the action can be non-stop. At the end of the day, your guide meticulously fillets and bags your catch ready for vacuum packing or immediate grilling.

✦ Peak Run Timing

July (Second Run Peak) offers the strongest concentrations of active biting fish.

✦ Private Boat Charter

Never crowded. 1 to 4 anglers per charter guarantees maximum river coverage and individual coaching.
